Miles Away x The Last Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz & Percussion Ensemble

This Wednesday, I decided to shed some light on an amazing album that expanded my musical taste.

Miles Away, an album released by The Last Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz & Percussion Ensemble, pays tribute to countless jazz artists like Roy Ayers, Woody Shaw, John Coltrane and Miles Davis.

The group, commonly known as Yesterday’s Universe is a Madlib creation.

Madlib, DJ and producer, is incredibly talented with many different pseudonyms that he creates music under. Pseudonyms like Quasimoto (a high pitched voiced rapping cartoon character), Madvillan (combined with MF Doom, a rap/DJ duo) and Yesterday’s New Quintet (a jazz group).

Released on Stones Throw records, this is a must have for experimental jazz fans.

Check the album out on Stones Throw’s website. And buy it there, iTunes or stream it on Spotify.
